I have been working with a great young couple in North Seattle on their master suite addition, kitchen and living room expansion. That was a difficult permitting process due to the dried up creek in their backyard. The city felt that possibly in the future that the salmon might start spawning in this dried up creek. Well that’s OK we worked with the city it just cost additional money and time getting the permit. That project is underway and pictures of this project will follow. Well to get tot he point, this family’s parents live on Beacon Hill wit a another sister in Shoreline and the other sister in England.
With this big family the girls wanted the parent to have a bigger place for gatherings, so I have been working with Kimmberly in England to build a 2nd floor addition to the existing residence. The exciting news is the project will be Sips construction, the wall panels are Structurally Insulated Panels, the picture below shows what the typical construction of the panels are. The panels should save 50% in energy and speed up the construction, since the walls will have the exterior sheathing and insulation installed in one task. Come back to follow up on this project. It’s great to win awards and boy is it time consuming for those who hasn’t completed any award entry application. Fine Construction won an REX Remodeling Excellence Award through the MBA, Master Builders Association for best bathroom over $75K, yes that’s right $75K.!
The Rex was for a single father who traveled a lot and in his travels loved the hotels, spa’s and resorts that he had got so acquainted with, the Four Seasons and on.
As you walk through the foyer it has a vaulted ceiling with over a thousand led lights drilled through acrylic panels to give the illusion of the solar system. The marble floors bring you to the marble steps of the jetted 2+ person tub.
Look to the right and you’ll find a vanity with a marble top, a vessel sink and in the wall faucets, continuing ot the right is one of two closets and the next door goes to a room for the toilet.
Turn around and head back the other way and at the end of the room is the walk in shower, with no curb to step over, flush with the marble is a stone pebble flooring in the shower, the shower walls are linen tile with multiple showering devices, hand held to showering jets.
Please click on the images, especially the foyer picture.

In Seattle everyone knows what we are in for during the winter, rain, rain and more rain. Well we have been tracking the weather like never before. Every morning, mid afternoon and afternoon the office and the lead project manager discussed the weather and the predictions for what the weather. Finally we had a 4 day break and we mobilized our framing crew and our crews to demo and start framing so we could avoid the rain. Presently we have trusses showing up on Wednesday and we’ll be weathered in by Friday, Yeah!
This Fine Construction Master Suite addition is located in West Seattle. The addition is to the new 3rd floor with unobstructed 240 degrees incredible views. The design is by the Fine Construction Design Team. Our local architect listened to our clients needs and our interior designer brought together the color pallet that the clients loved and we are on tract to finish this contemporary project. No Doubt that this will be an award winner!
