I have been working with a great young couple in North Seattle on their master suite addition, kitchen and living room expansion. That was a difficult permitting process due to the dried up creek in their backyard. The city felt that possibly in the future that the salmon might start spawning in this dried up creek. Well that’s OK we worked with the city it just cost additional money and time getting the permit. That project is underway and pictures of this project will follow. Well to get tot he point, this family’s parents live on Beacon Hill wit a another sister in Shoreline and the other sister in England.
With this big family the girls wanted the parent to have a bigger place for gatherings, so I have been working with Kimmberly in England to build a 2nd floor addition to the existing residence. The exciting news is the project will be Sips construction, the wall panels are Structurally Insulated Panels, the picture below shows what the typical construction of the panels are. The panels should save 50% in energy and speed up the construction, since the walls will have the exterior sheathing and insulation installed in one task. Come back to follow up on this project.
