Are you looking to go to see a great play, well one has launched at The Act, it is called “The Trip to Bountiful” written by Horton Foote and It takes place in the south.
The actors have a minimal props on the stage, yet they come alive. Each of the characters are cast to do a fabulous job. Mary Kae Irvin has made a comeback to the stage after being gone for several years to raise a family. Mary Kae plays Jessie Mae and what a character she plays, I’m glad I’m not married to her.
Marianne Owen as Carrie Watts, the mother in law and all she wants is to go back and see her old home in Bountiful. The theater in the round is a great setting. The pros are minimal but you notice the cool ones that pop up.
Jessica Martin as Thelma, Thelma meets Carrie Watts in the bus station and the two of them become good friends. When they get on the bus, this scene is very cool with the bus seat is on a carousel and turns around as they continue their discussion.
All of the actors are in their element and make this a must see play. Invite some friend s to go with you and you’ll talk about for days.
